“Using GenLearn, we’ve been able to embed AI-led conversations directly into our LawCPD courses without changing our authoring tool or LMS. The conversations are quick to build and scale, saving us time on scenario and question design. Most importantly, they’ve helped us stand out in a crowded market and drive increased course sales."

GenLearn's solution

LawCPD addressed these challenges by launching the first commercial prototype of GenLearn in November 2023. This innovative solution offered lawyers, in a global first, personalised feedback and opportunities to practically apply their learning in real-time on demand.

Using GenLearn’s AI conversation builder, they were able to:

  • Increase course relevance and impact by creating realistic, AI-led activities that help lawyers apply skills directly to their practice.

  • Boost learner engagement and retention by creating interactive, scenario-based conversations that help lawyers stay focused and retain knowledge more effectively.

  • Reduce course development time by streamlining the creation of interactive content without compromising quality.

  • Drive higher sales while maintaining compliance by offering innovative CPD experiences that still meet strict requirements.

The first proof of concept conversation launched in October 2023 with qualitative user testing. The commercial launch into two existing online CPD courses followed in November 2023, validating the core idea and its impact on learner engagement and outcomes.

Business Impact

The launch of LawCPD’s AI-enhanced courses was a resounding success, with over 1200 lawyers engaging within three months. The first two AI-enhanced courses became LawCPD's highest-grossing offerings, despite a 15.5% price increase. User satisfaction averaged 4.8 out of 5 stars, and 84% of learners reported significant aid to their learning. This has demonstrated high commercial potential and opened new revenue streams, democratising access to personalised, scalable AI-led learning globally.

  • 84% learners reporting a significant aid to learning

The LawCPD team received multiple awards following the introduction of AI-led activities.

Learner Impact

LawCPD conducted a customised survey to gather extensive qualitative and quantitative feedback from lawyers who engaged with their AI-instructor. The primary purpose of this survey was to measure learner engagement with the AI-led activities to assess potential improvements. It also aimed to determine if the AI-led conversations enhanced learners' enjoyment and overall experience.

Survey responses were collected from November 2023 to March 2024, correlating with the AI-enhanced courses' launch in November 2023. A more comprehensive quantitative survey was also conducted in mid-2024.

Key findings from the feedback included measurable improvements in learning outcomes and engagement:

  • 82% of participants enjoyed learning with the AI-instructor.

  • 78% engaged more with the course content due to the AI-instructor.

  • 84% felt that the AI-instructor significantly aided their learning process.

  • There was 89% satisfaction with the AI's adaptivity.

  • An 86% increase in retention was observed compared to traditional interactive courses.

The qualitative feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Lawyers praised the AI-instructor for its accuracy and conversational approach, noting that its conversational learning style helped deepen engagement with course content and improved the overall learning experience. They specifically highlighted its effectiveness in teaching complex skills and knowledge in an intuitive and enjoyable way, aiding in information retention and real-world application.

Practical Application

"The AI gave me a chance to think about applying what I’d learned and practice those skills."

Increased relevance

"The AI was surprisingly accurate and responsive to my answers."

Impactful training

"Interacting with the AI, I learned more and retained more information afterwards."
